We are Hands for Africa.
A team working on the ground in Mozambique so that no child grows up hungry, sick, or without a school.
Our story
Hands for Africa began in 2014 in a single classroom in Nampula, northern Mozambique, where a handful of teachers and nurses refused to watch children go hungry. What started as one daily meal for forty children has grown into food, health and education programs across 23 communities.
We are not a distant office sending money abroad. Our teams live and work where the children do. Every meal, every vaccine, every school book is delivered by our own people on the ground.
Our mission
Our mission is simple: that every child in the communities we serve wakes up fed, healthy, and able to go to school. No middlemen. No excuses.
What we do
Food
Hot meals every day through community kitchens, so hunger never keeps a child from learning or growing.
Health
Vaccines, checkups and clean water that stop preventable disease before it takes a life.
Education
School supplies, scholarships and support for local teachers, so a child's future is decided by their potential, not their poverty.
Where we work
We work across northern and central Mozambique, in the provinces of Nampula, Zambézia and Cabo Delgado, partnering with local schools, clinics and community leaders. Our coordination office is in Maputo.
What we believe
We believe in dawn, not pity. We show children as they are: full of life, laughter and potential. We treat every family with dignity, and we measure our work by the futures we help build.

Our reach so far
Your gift changes a child's morning.
It takes very little to put a meal, a vaccine, or a school day into a child's hands.
